The History of Collins Hill Christian School
Collins Hill Christian School is a ministry of Collins Hill Baptist Church and was founded in 1994. CHCS utilizes a Bible-centered curriculum (Abeka
and Bob Jones Press) and desires by divine leadership to be Christ-like in our pursuit of each academic, spiritual, cultural, physical, and social endeavor. A well-qualified, born-again, caring faculty seeks to model Christ and provide an excellent Christian education. The campus has doubled from two buildings consisting of ten rooms to four buildings totaling twenty-two rooms and a gymnasium. Our faculty and staff have grown from three in 1994 to over twenty today.
Our Mission and Educational Philosophy
The mission of CHCS is to assist parents with their God-given responsibilities of training, educating, and spiritually developing their children. CHCS desires to unite our hearts and hands together in training children to achieve their best for God. Philippians 1:27 states “With one mind striving for the faith of the Gospel.” From the start, Mr. Dan Huff, the administration and the faculty and staff have labored to sharpen, focus, strengthen and improve the school’s spiritual and academic program. Teaching, training, and helping students achieve their best for God both spiritually and academically is the essence of CHCS. CHCS offers a well-rounded academic program for preschool children through 8th grade.
Daily Bible class is conducted with scriptural applications and memorization of God’s Word. Chapel is held bi-weekly for 4th – 8th and monthly for Kindergarten – 3rd. The 7th & 8th grade students attend an annual time at the WILDS camp to help with spiritual growth and bonding of the students.
